The first Boat Share Show – a collective event of four of the major management companies of shared narrowboat ownership
ABC Boat Share, BCBM Boat Share, Carefree Cruising and Ownashare – was a major success for visitors, management companies and exhibitors alike.
Held over the weekend of 12-13 April, it was the first occasion that all four shared ownership management companies had joined forces to provide a shop window for this sector of boating. A number of trade exhibitors which supply the four fleets also attended, including engine builders Beta Marine, boat window manufacturer Channel Glaze and Wilson, the boat cover and furniture manufacturer.
The bright Spring weekend attracted some 3,000 visitors to see the 19 narrowboats on display in the Old Arm at Braunston Marina, with new and secondhand shares for sale from £1,000 to £11,000 for four weeks usage a year.
“I’m delighted with the obvious success of this first show sponsored for all four shared ownership boat management companies,” said Andrew Cooley of boatshare4u.co.uk who co-ordinated the event. “All four sponsor companies said they wanted to hold another Boat share Show next year. “
