The Buckingham Canal Society held an open day on 15 September to show off the culmination of 21 years of work.
In 2013, the Buckingham end of the canal as it has been re-lined and it now holds water for the first time in nearly 100 years. Work continues at their four active restoration sites. Displays will be on site included maps of the area showing the historic canal, archive material and photos of restoration work being carried out.
