Crick Boat Show has become the latest inland waterways event to be put on hold as a result of the Coronovirus threat
Scheduled for the end of May, the country’s largest inland boat show has now been put off until “later in the year”, the Director Peter Johns explaining that “The health of visitors, exhibitors, volunteers, contractors, suppliers and our staff is paramount and with the currently projected duration of the Covid-19 outbreak, it has become clear that now is the right time for us to postpone the 2020 Show.” The Canal & River Trust’s Matthew Symonds said CRT would “work with them closely to secure an alternative date.”
Meanwhile the Inland Waterways Association’s National Chairman Paul Rogers has expressed IWA’s “great regret and disappointment” at having to cancel its popular annual Canalway Cavalcade festival at London’s Little Venice, while the Shropshire Union’s Norbury Festival has also been cancelled, and other events are under review.
CRT has issued advice on for boaters on Coronavirus including its impact on &rlquo;continuous cruisers’ without home moorings.
