Pilings Marina welcomed more than 1,000 people to its On the Water open weekend 27 and 28 April to enjoy boat trips, tours and a hog roast plus a band in the evening.
Two offers were made on boats for sale and two bookings were taken for moorings. Managing Director Paul Lillie said: “We had over 450 passengers on our fleet of three day-hire boats. One lady I had on a trip boat told me she hadn’t been on a narrowboat holiday for nearly 30 years, but she’s now seriously thinking of booking a hire boat this summer. “What a great start to the summer 2013 boating season and making people aware of how fabulous our waterways are. A huge thank you to all my staff and our berth holders: Terry, Lesley, Nick, Nia, Kim, Rob, Alan and all the others who made this event so special.”
