Very slow but sure… is the way forward.
Well, I’m off to a steady start in building my own 3ft model narrowboat, which was supplied in kit form from Dean’s Marine, Peterborough. I have sanded the hull down to get rid of any wax or grease, though you probably can’t tell on the pictures. So far, I have got the prop-shaft in and propeller on, plus the rudder and have made a start on the aft bulkhead and the removable stern deck. It’s removable just in case I want to make the model usable on water – in which case it will need wiring up – which all goes under the stern deck. One thing I have noticed during the build, is that I am lacking the necessary craft tools, so I’m making do with what I have, please excuse any excess glue. More next month…
