A new guide has been launched to encourage more people to explore the River Severn.
The free guide gives boaters tips on how to safely navigate down the historic waterway, as well as more general information about boating on the UK’s canals and rivers.
The illustrated booklet will be aboard all hire boats operating on the Severn, with copies also available at each of the river locks, as well as in downloadable form from our website.
Nick Worthington, waterway manager at the Canal & River Trust, said: “You’ll find inside stretch-by-stretch advice on navigating up and down the river, for all different kinds of boats. Whether you fancy taking out a narrowboat or just taking to the water under your own steam in a canoe, there’s advice in the guide to make your journey as smooth as possible, as well as important safety information. In our view, there’s no better way to see the river.”
